President Uhuru Kenyatta has set April 6 next year as the date for the BBI referendum in an escalation set to rankle his deputy William Samoei Ruto who has maintained calls for consensus over the report.
The BBI bill will follow the ‘Punguza Mzigo’ route, with county assemblies given 30 days to deliberate and pass it while parliament has 45 days from the day it is introduced on the floor.
